Chargers Celebrate Excellence at 2025–26 Athletics Banquet

The Crandall Chargers community came together to celebrate a remarkable year of athletic, academic, and personal achievement at the 2025–2026 Athletics Banquet. The evening brought together student-athletes, coaches and staff to reflect on the season and recognize excellence across all programs.

The night began with a welcome from Athletics Director Jaderson Cordeiro, followed by opening remarks and a devotional, setting the tone for an evening centered on gratitude, growth, and celebration. After a shared meal, the program transitioned into honouring the individuals who have made a lasting impact on Chargers Athletics this year.

Recognizing Those Behind the Scenes

A special moment of the evening highlighted the contributions of Crandall’s Game Day staff. Their work often goes unnoticed, yet it is essential to the success of every event. Miranda Buckley and Andrew Bennett were recognized for their outstanding commitment and countless hours of work to ensure a high standard of excellence throughout the season.

Conference and National Recognition

Several Chargers were celebrated for their success at the conference and national level. Athletes from multiple programs earned All-Conference honours, while Manil Alouache (Men’s Soccer) and Charity Hearn (Women's Basketball) were named Rookie of the Year and Ethan Druart received the Bob Coe Award.

Luke Purdy made program history by being named a CCAA All-Canadian after finishing in the top 10 at the national cross-country championship.

Team Awards Across Programs

Each team presented three key awards: Christian Leadership Award, Coaches Award, and Team MVP, recognizing athletes for their character, commitment, and performance throughout the season.

Major Awards

The Unsung Hero Award was presented to Andrew Bennett, Miranda Buckley, and Ethan Jones for their behind-the-scenes contributions and dedication to Chargers Athletics.

The Dr. Seth Crowell Award, recognizing excellence in academics and character, was awarded to MaryAnne Gard and Ella Smith.

Rookie of the Year honours went to:

  • Charity Hearn (Female)
  • Manil Alouache (Male)

The evening’s highest honours were awarded to:

  • Female Athlete of the Year: Amy Le Blang
  • Male Athlete of the Year: Luke Purdy

Celebrating Graduates

The banquet also recognized graduating student-athletes, celebrating their journeys as Chargers. These individuals were honoured not only for their athletic contributions but for their growth as students, leaders, and members of the Crandall community.
