Chargers Fall to St. Thomas at Home

The Crandall Chargers came up short Friday afternoon, dropping a 78–44 decision to St. Thomas at home.

The Tommies established control early, jumping out to a quick lead in the opening quarter and carrying momentum into halftime. Despite the early deficit, the Chargers continued to compete and showed improvement on both ends in the second half.

St. Thomas opened the game with a strong first quarter, outscoring the Chargers 27–10, and followed with another solid frame to take a 46–16 lead into the break. The visitors capitalized on turnovers and perimeter shooting to build separation.

Crandall responded with its best stretch in the third quarter, scoring 18 points and finding better offensive rhythm. Charity Hearn led the Chargers with 12 points, while Kelsey Alward added 9 points. Lauren Lilly contributed 8 points, attacking the rim and getting to the free-throw line.

The Chargers continued to fight through the fourth quarter, generating quality looks and defensive stops, but St. Thomas maintained its advantage to close out the game.

The Chargers will look to build on their second-half effort as they prepare for the rematch tommorrow.
