Chargers Drop Home Contest to Mount Allison

The Crandall Chargers were unable to sustain early momentum Saturday afternoon, falling 78–56 to Mount Allison at Crandall University.

After a strong opening quarter, Mount Allison gradually took control of the game by winning the rebounding battle and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities to pull away over the final three quarters.

Strong Opening Quarter

The Chargers opened the game with energy on both ends, building an 18–11 lead after the first quarter. Crandall moved the ball well early and applied defensive pressure that limited Mount Allison's scoring chances.

Mount Allison responded in the second quarter, outscoring the Chargers 26–14 to take a 37–32 lead into halftime, using offensive rebounds and efficient shooting to swing momentum.

Mount Allison Pulls Away

The visitors extended their lead in the third quarter, holding Crandall to nine points while pushing the margin into double digits. Mount Allison continued to build separation in the fourth, shooting efficiently and closing out the game.

Chargers' Effort

Kelsey Alward led the Chargers with 13 points, while Charity Hearn and Ella Smith each added 10 points. Lauren Lilly contributed eight points, and Crandall forced 22 turnovers, working to generate transition opportunities throughout the game.

Despite the effort, Mount Allison's 42–27 rebounding advantage and 9 second-chance points proved difficult to overcome.
