Chargers Fall to Holland, 72–46

The Crandall Chargers were unable to overcome a strong start by Holland, falling 72–46 on the road Thursday night at the MacMillan Centre.

Holland set the tone early, jumping out to a 24–13 first-quarter lead and maintaining control throughout the game. Crandall struggled to find offensive rhythm, shooting 31.0% from the field and 1-for-23 from three-point range, which made it difficult to close the gap.

Kelsey Alward led the Chargers with 12 points, while Charity Hearn added 11 points and seven rebounds, battling inside and creating second-chance opportunities. Lauren Lilly contributed nine points and three assists, and Tristan DesRoches chipped in nine points in a balanced but limited scoring effort.

Defensively, Crandall worked to stay competitive on the glass, finishing with 39 rebounds, including 14 offensive boards, and matched Holland with 30 points in the paint. However, 33 turnovers proved costly, leading to 20 points off turnovers for the home side.

Holland extended its lead in the second and fourth quarters, leaning on efficient perimeter shooting and a strong bench performance that outscored Crandall 28–2.

The Chargers will look to regroup and focus on ball security and perimeter shooting as they prepare for their next matchup.
