Chargers Fall to Holland at Home

The Crandall Chargers were defeated 77–64 by Holland on Friday evening at Crandall University, despite a strong second-half push that narrowed a sizeable early deficit.

Holland set the tone early, opening the game on a 28–12 first-quarter run and maintaining control through the second quarter to take a 43–28 lead into halftime. The visitors capitalized on second-chance opportunities and transition offense to build momentum in the opening half.

Crandall responded with its best stretch after the break, outscoring Holland 19–11 in the third quarter to cut the margin to 54–47 heading into the final frame. The Chargers continued to battle defensively, but Holland answered with timely three-point shooting and free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Charity Hearn led the Chargers with 14 points, adding 2 assists and a steal, while Kelsey Alward contributed 12 points and 7 rebounds. Kaley Axworthy finished with 11 points, including a key fourth-quarter three, and Lauren Lilly provided a steady presence off the bench with seven points.

Crandall shot 42.1 percent from the field and forced 18 turnovers, converting those chances into 58 points off turnovers. However, Holland's edge on the boards (44–22) and 23 second-chance points proved decisive.

Despite the result, the Chargers showed resilience and improvement on the offensive end in the second half and will look to build on that momentum heading into their next matchup.
