Chargers Win Four-Set Battle Over Dal Rams

The Crandall Chargers responded with a resilient performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Dal Rams 3–1 (25–21, 25–19, 22–25, 25–15) at Crandall University.

Crandall came out strong in the opening set, using steady side-out play and consistent serving to build an early lead before closing the frame 25–21. The Chargers carried that momentum into the second set, holding Dal to a negative hitting percentage while extending the lead to take the set 25–19.

Dal pushed back in the third, capitalizing on extended rallies and forcing errors to edge out a 25–22 win and keep the match alive. Crandall quickly regrouped in the fourth, delivering its most efficient offensive performance of the match and hitting .455 as a team to pull away early and secure the victory.

Francois Benoit led the Chargers with 17 points, including 10 kills and a match-high seven service aces, applying constant pressure from the service line. Cole Wilson added 10 kills, four aces, and strong all-around play, while Connor Kirkland contributed nine kills on an efficient .571 hitting percentage.

Setter Mico Guiao guided the offense with 34 assists, helping Crandall total 48 kills on the afternoon. Defensively, the Chargers recorded 39 digs and six total blocks, keeping Dal out of rhythm for much of the match.

Crandall's ability to respond after dropping the third set proved to be the difference, as the Chargers controlled the tempo in the final frame and closed out the match with authority.

The Chargers will look to carry the momentum forward as they continue conference play.
