Chargers Fall in Straight Sets at St. Thomas

The Crandall Chargers were unable to slow St. Thomas' efficient offense Sunday afternoon, falling in straight sets (25–14, 25–13, 25–20) at LB Gym.

Crandall showed flashes of strong play throughout the match but struggled to maintain momentum against a St. Thomas squad that controlled the net and applied consistent pressure from the service line.

Early Pressure from the Hosts

St. Thomas set the tone early, building separation in the opening set with aggressive serving and efficient attacking to take the first set 25–14. The hosts carried that momentum into the second, limiting Crandall's offensive opportunities and closing out the set 25–13.

The Chargers responded with their best stretch in the third set, staying competitive and trading points through the middle stages. Despite the push, St. Thomas closed the match with a 25–20 win to complete the sweep.

Individual Efforts

Liam Rafferty led the Chargers with seven kills, while Francois Benoit and Connor Kirkland each added five kills. Kirkland also contributed a service ace and five digs in the effort.

Setter Mico Guiao directed the offense with 23 assists, and Joel Keats anchored the back row with seven digs. As a team, Crandall recorded 26 kills and 28 digs but was held to a .105 hitting percentage as St. Thomas finished the match hitting .386.

St. Thomas was led by Brenton Romanchuk and Kalan Noonan, who combined for 16 kills as the hosts maintained control throughout the match.
