Chargers Compete but Fall to St. Thomas at Home

The Crandall Chargers faced a strong St. Thomas squad and came up short in a straight-sets loss (25–14, 25–17, 25–22) on Friday afternoon at Crandall University.

St. Thomas controlled the early momentum, using efficient attacking to take the first two sets. Crandall responded with its most competitive stretch in the third set, pushing the Tommies deep into the frame before St. Thomas closed out the match.

Francois Benoit led the Chargers offensively, recording five kills while hitting an efficient .500, and adding two service aces. Noah MacDonald was productive in the middle with four kills on .375 hitting and two block assists. Jack Hillier added three kills, while Ben Brun contributed four kills in extended action.

Setter Mico Guiao directed the offense with 20 assists, while Joel Keats anchored the back row defensively with two digs. At the net, Crandall recorded five block assists, continuing to challenge St. Thomas' attackers throughout the match.

Despite the result, the Chargers showed improvement as the match progressed, particularly in the third set, and gained valuable experience against a quality opponent.

The Chargers will look to build on their late-set execution as they prepare for their next matchup.
