Chargers Fall to Mount Saint Vincent, 100–74

The Crandall Chargers were unable to slow a hot-shooting Mount Saint Vincent squad, falling 100–74 on Saturday evening at Crandall University.

Mount Saint Vincent set the tone early, shooting 86.7% in the first quarter to jump out to a 31–24 lead. Crandall stayed within striking distance through the second quarter, but Mount Saint Vincent extended its advantage heading into halftime and continued to build momentum after the break.

Ethan Culberson led the Chargers with 15 points, adding 4 steals in an active two-way performance. Colby McIntosh also scored 15 points, while Caleb Rennie chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Charles McKenna provided a strong presence on the glass, finishing with 11 rebounds to go along with 10 points.

Despite winning the free-throw battle (14-of-16, 87.5%), Crandall struggled to find consistency from the field, shooting 39.4% overall and 23.5% from three-point range. Turnovers proved costly, as Mount Saint Vincent converted 28 points off turnovers and controlled the tempo throughout the night.

Mount Saint Vincent pushed the lead to as many as 26 points in the fourth quarter, closing the game with efficient perimeter shooting and balanced scoring.

The Chargers will look to regroup defensively and tighten up ball security as they prepare for their next contest.
