Chargers Fall on the Road at St. Thomas
The Crandall Chargers dropped a road contest to St. Thomas, falling 93–61 on Saturday afternoon at STU.
St. Thomas took control early, building a 27–17 first-quarter lead and extending the advantage in the second quarter to go up 48–26 at halftime. Crandall showed fight coming out of the break, matching St. Thomas' intensity for stretches of the third quarter, but the home side continued to create separation with efficient shooting and strong interior play.
Luca Del Bosco led the Chargers with 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Ethan Culberson added 10 points and 2 assists. Dave Hutton chipped in 9 points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers, and Caleb Rennie contributed 8 points and 5 rebounds.
Crandall shot 33.3 percent from the field and 26.1 percent from three-point range, while St. Thomas capitalized on second-chance opportunities and points off turnovers. The Tommies finished with 40 points in the paint and 27 points off turnovers, controlling the tempo throughout the game.
Despite the result, the Chargers competed on the glass with 33 rebounds and continued to battle defensively through all four quarters.
The Chargers will look to regroup and focus on offensive consistency and ball security as they prepare for their next matchup.
