Chargers Fall to UKC on the Road

The Crandall Chargers dropped a 3–0 decision to UKC on October 4th at Wickwire Field, facing sustained pressure in a challenging road matchup.

UKC opened the scoring early, finding the net in the 6th minute, and doubled the lead midway through the first half in the 25th minute to take a 2–0 advantage into halftime. The hosts added an insurance goal in stoppage time to seal the result.

Despite the scoreline, Maya Clapperton delivered a standout performance in goal for the Chargers, making 10 saves while facing 13 shots on target. Her efforts kept Crandall within reach throughout long stretches of the match, particularly as UKC applied consistent attacking pressure.

Crandall generated 11 shots, with Jamie Hicks and Sarah Schurman leading the attacking efforts and combining for five shots on goal. The Chargers continued to press forward in the second half and earned two corner kicks, but were unable to break through a disciplined UKC defense.

Defensively, the Chargers battled through heavy pressure, as UKC finished with 43 total shots, reflecting the volume of possession and chances created by the home side.

Despite the result, the road match provided valuable experience against a strong UKC squad, with Crandall showing resilience and effort through all 90 minutes.

The Chargers will look to regroup and build on this performance as they prepare for their next matchup.
