Chargers Fall to UKC in Defensive Battle

The Crandall Chargers dropped a 2–0 decision to UKC on September 14th at Mathieu Martin High School, despite a strong defensive effort that kept the match competitive throughout.

UKC opened the scoring early, finding the back of the net in the 3rd minute, and added a second goal late in the first half in the 39th minute to take a 2–0 lead into halftime. Crandall regrouped after the break and held UKC scoreless over the final 45 minutes, tightening defensively and limiting chances.

Goalkeeper Dominique LeClair delivered a standout performance for the Chargers, recording nine saves while facing 11 shots on goal, repeatedly denying UKC and keeping the match within reach. The Crandall back line worked hard under sustained pressure and prevented the deficit from growing.

Offensively, Crandall generated six shots, with Taylor Fredericks and Sarah Schurman each registering shots on goal. The Chargers continued to press forward in the second half, but were unable to find a breakthrough against a disciplined UKC defense.

Despite the result, Crandall's second-half defensive performance and goalkeeping stood out as positives, as the Chargers competed through the final whistle.

The Chargers will look to build on their defensive resilience as they prepare for their next matchup.
