Chargers Fall to St. Thomas in Season Opener
The Crandall Chargers opened the season with a tough test, falling 4–0 to St. Thomas on September 6th at Mathieu Martin High School.
St. Thomas capitalized early, scoring four first-half goals to take control of the match. The Chargers regrouped after the break and held St. Thomas scoreless in the second half, showing improved organization and defensive effort as the match progressed.
Goalkeeper Tim Leaman was a bright spot for Crandall, recording nine saves while facing sustained pressure in the opening half. Defensively, the Chargers worked to limit second-half chances and kept the contest from getting further out of reach.
Crandall generated limited offensive opportunities, finishing with two shots, as St. Thomas controlled possession and tempo throughout much of the match. Despite the result, the Chargers showed resilience after halftime and gained valuable early-season experience against a strong opponent.
The Chargers will look to build on their second-half performance as they prepare for their next matchup.
