Chargers Edged Out by Visiting Tommies

MONCTON, NB - STU Tommies edged out the Crandall Chargers 76-71 in a physically tough match on Saturday evening. The Tommies have had the Chargers number this season, winning their first meeting back in November 2021.

Crandall took the lead and held it until the early in the fourth quarter while trying to cover the loss of Brett Curtis after being disqualified from the match for receiving two technical fouls.

Though Curtis missed the last few minutes of play he was the points leader for the Chargers with 18. Colby Lawrence recorded a double double recording 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Shamier Stewart had his debut for the Chargers, tallying two points, scoring on both his free throw shots.

The ball went through Almin Dervisevic for the Tommies putting up an impressive stat line of 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals while playing 33 minutes.

The Chargers will look to correct course next Friday as the Mount Allison Mounties come to Moncton.
