Chargers Cross Country to Race Redeemer Royals

The Crandall University Chargers and the Redeemer University Royals are very pleased to announce a virtual cross country meet between their two teams. The March 13th race will see the men and women compete in a friendly head-to-head meet in their home cities – the Chargers in Moncton, NB and the Royals in Hamilton, ON. The race will be 7km and the male and female athletes will be combined to create one mixed scoring team from each institution.

"Our team is very excited to have another opportunity to race this season, and to do so alongside a collegiate team of similar size and institutional values," said Chargers Head Coach Brandon LeBlanc. "A race distance of 7km will provide a nice shake-up from the usual, as our men are accustomed to 8km and our women to 6km."

"We are looking forward to partnering with Crandall in fellowship and friendly competition this year. It will be an excellent opportunity for our athletes to have a race-like experience and compete against other CCAA runners, in a unique format," said Royals Head Coach Jeremy Parsons. We are excited to continue to explore creative means of training, racing, and growing as a team, despite the challenges that all athletes are facing during the pandemic."

In the event of inclement weather the make-up date will be Saturday, March 20th. Teams will follow all applicable COVID-19 public health guidelines for their respective regions.
