Chargers Men Place 3rd at Final Regular Season Meet

The Crandall Chargers men's and women's cross country teams competed in their third and final regular season meet on Saturday, achieving two top ten placements and personal bests all around. The meet was hosted by Mount Saint Vincent University at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, NS.

Rookie Nick Fletcher of Moncton led the way for the men's team, placing 5th in a time of 32:44 followed by Aaron Reimer of Moncton, who achieved a new personal best time of 33:19. Ryan Smallwood of Moncton crossed the line in a time of 36:37 to place 16th, while rookie Cole Edwards of Fredericton placed 19th with a time of 39:42. The men's team scored a total of 42 points, placing 3rd amongst the five teams that competed.

On the women's side, rookie Jemm Smith of Dundas was the only Charger to compete at the competition, placing 17th with a personal best time of 32:24.

"Today we showed that Crandall is small but mighty. Despite only entering five members of our team, each athlete challenged for positions and achieved personal best performances," said Head Coach Brandon LeBlanc. "This was a great way to finish off the regular season. We'll now dive into final preparations for the ACAA Championships, where we hope to pull off our best performances yet."

The Chargers will next compete at the ACAA Country Championships on November 2nd, hosted by Holland College at PEI's Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park at Brookvale.
