CU Chargers basketball players braved a very cold October morning to lend a hand to the Legs for Literacy event held in Moncton, NB. Both Men's and Women's teams were on hand to guide traffic and cheer on runners as they ran the 10km part of the marathon. Crandall Athletics has developed an internal mandate of giving back to the community through acts of service and this is on of the ways they are doing that.
"Our bike patrol, bike captain, and bike leads commented how IMPRESSED they were with the team, and how well organized and ready they all were" said volunteer coordinator Lisa MacDonald. "Even our runners on the 10k route thought they did a fantastic job!"
The Chargers open up the regular basketball season on November 11 at home this year vs The Mystics from Mount Saint Vincent University. Game times are 1 and 3pm.
